CBM's Audio Library service
Do you or someone you know, have difficulty reading?
CBM Australia operates an Audio Library for people with a print disability, who are unable to read regular print material.
The Audio Library at CBM Australia is a FREE Library service distributing Christian talking books and magazines to anyone with a print disability throughout Australia and New Zealand.
What is a print disability?
People with a print disability are those who cannot obtain access to information in a print format because they:
- are blind or vision impaired;
- have physical disabilities which limit their ability to hold or manipulate information in a printed form;
- have perceptual or other disabilities which limit their ability to follow a line of print or which affect their concentration;
- cannot comprehend information in a print format due to insufficient literacy or language skills.
**Did you know the most common form of print disability in Australia today is due to age related Macular degeneration?**
Anyone in Australia or New Zealand with a print disability may Join the Audio Library
How does the library service pay for itself?
CBM Australia's Audio Library is a FREE Library service and as such, does not charge a fee for being a member.
We receive a small amount of Government subsidy to cover some costs, however, for the greater part, we rely on donations.
As
you may imagine, it costs quite a bit to deliver a continual service
like this, so donations are greatly appreciated and are always welcome.
All donations to the Audio Library over $2 are tax deductible.
