Surrender conference: Adelaide 2019
Stories | October 3, 2019
CBM Australia is a partner of Surrender, an annual conference for Christians passionate about justice, mission and discipleship.
The theme of this year’s conference is ‘Interwoven: Can We All Come Together?’
We live in a world where people continue to segregate themselves and others. It’s more important than ever that we work together to weave the torn parts of the world back together.
On October 11-12 we will be attending the Surrender conference in Adelaide.
Earlier this year, CBM Australia was given the opportunity to conduct a workshop at the Surrender conference in Melbourne. Inclusivity is at the heart of what we do every day and we were able to break down some of the barriers stopping disability inclusion with first-hand experiences from our speakers:
- Ipul Powaseu, PHD student and Pacific Disability Forum board member, provided insights into some of the barriers to disability inclusion and the ongoing need for advocacy in this area.
- Stevie Willis, CBM Australia’s Community Education Officer, is a Christian women living with a disability. She shared her journey of becoming fully part of a community who shared her faith after years of exclusion.
