Shaping the Future of Inclusive Development in Indonesia

Stories | June 12, 2026

In February, CBM Global Indonesia brought together 48 participants from 11 partner organisations, Organisations of Persons with Disabilities (OPDs), the Country Advisory Panel, and technical specialists from CBM Global for a three-day Country Strategic Planning Workshop in Jakarta.

The workshop focused on co‑developing a clear strategic direction for the next five years, ensuring that people with disabilities remain at the centre of all programming and decision-making.

Through an engaging series of presentations, group discussions, and consultations, partners and OPDs collaborated to refine strategic priorities, explore program approaches, and identify how CBM Global and its partners can best contribute through advocacy, inclusion advisory, and community-based programming.

With contributions from CBM Global’s Eye Health Advisor and OPD Capacity Strengthening Advisor, the workshop highlighted opportunities to strengthen inclusive programming, deepen localisation, and enhance the leadership of OPDs across Indonesia.

This important collective effort will inform the 2026–2030 Country Strategic Plan, ensuring our work remains impactful, locally led, and aligned with the lived experience of people with disabilities.

We are grateful to all partners, advisors, and OPD representatives who contributed their expertise and commitment to shaping a more inclusive future.
