Week 3 – Lent series 2026

Lent, Stories | Published: March 3, 2026

This week, we’re reflecting with our colleague Christian, Supporter Relationship Specialist at CBM Australia, who turns to John 13:34–35 (NIV):

“A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples if you love one another.”

During this season of Lent, Christian is reflecting on what it means to spread the love of God.

“In this scripture, Jesus is speaking to His disciples during the Last Supper. Today for us, Jesus’ commandment still serves as an instruction, to lead with love in all that we do.

To love others is not a one-time action, but a permanent adjustment in the posture of our hearts. To love others is to support, to listen, and to advocate.”

Christian sees the same love through the generosity of our supporters with which CBM can share God’s love in tangible, life‑changing ways: surgeries, mobility aids, therapy, strengthened health systems, and so much more.

For Christian, a small act of love can go a long way.

“When we think, act, and speak with love we reflect God’s heart for His people.”
