Week 2 – Lent series 2026
Lent, Stories | February 26, 2026
As we continue our Lent journey, we’re grateful to share a heartfelt reflection from CBM Australia’s Head of Program Impact Operations, Kieran Cummins, who is intentionally grounding himself more deeply in Christ.
Kieran finds himself returning to the Pray40 journey through Hallow as a way of recommitting to prayer, sacrifice, and almsgiving in the lead‑up to Good Friday and Easter.
“For me, Lent is a time to reflect honestly on my relationship with Christ, and to consider how that relationship is shaping the way I live and the choices I make each day. It’s a season that invites me to listen more closely to the Spirit whispering in my heart, and to act on those movements of the heart through prayer and through how I serve others.”
Kieran shares a reflection he returns to often from St Catherine of Siena, “Be who God meant you to be and you will set the world on fire,” and finds this both challenging and encouraging.
“Lent reminds me that we are each created intentionally and loved individually by God. We’re called to imitate Christ, but not to be copies of one another. True fulfilment comes from becoming who God created us to be, using all that He has given us – our gifts, skills, and compassion – in service of others.”
The Scripture Kieran shares reflects the work he undertakes with partners and communities at CBM Australia.
“Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others.”
1 Peter 4:10
“In my work at CBMA, I see this lived out through our partners who so put faith into action. Lent invites me to reflect on how our collective work can be an expression of that call, helping selflessness take root and spread in a world that deeply needs it.”
