Let your love live on. Eternally.

Write CBM Australia into your Will and help us end the cycle of poverty and disability.

Leaving a gift in your Will, also known as a bequest, can help people with disabilities living in the poorest places on earth access health services and education, and live life to the fullest for generations to come.

Why leave a gift in your Will?

Without the compassion of supporters who include CBM in their Wills, many of the poorest of the poor in developing countries would miss out on sight-saving operations, on life-saving and life-changing health care, on access to education and livelihood programs that can lift them out of poverty.

Eternal Giving Club

When you leave monetary donations in your Will to CBM we love to honour you, and your decision, by including you as a valued member of the Eternal Giving Club.

Your name is entered into the Club’s membership register, leather-bound and kept permanently at our offices, and we’ll invite you to celebrate with us at in-person (when COVID-19 restrictions allow) and online events to hear from CBM leadership, partner organisations and frontline aid workers.

You’ll also receive a tasteful lapel pin, which you can wear as a reminder of the legacy of hope you are leaving for people with disabilities in some of the world’s poorest places.

Where your gift will go

Blindness

Your donation will help restore eyesight and help with the prevention and treatment of avoidable blindness such as cataract, river blindness and trachoma.

Poverty

Ending poverty by providing aids and equipment, access to healthcare, allow for disability inclusive education and livelihood opportunities.

Advocacy

Bequests in a Will can also transform lives by influencing communities, organisations and governments to change attitudes towards people with disabilities and ensure everyone is included.

A message from our CEO

“Working as the Chief Executive Officer of CBM Australia brings me great joy and satisfaction every single day, and I want to ensure the future success of this remarkable work even after my tenure as the CEO. That’s why I have personally included CBM in my Will: I truly know what a difference this special gift will make.” – Jane Edge, CEO CBM Australia

There are three ways to include CBM in your Will

1. Residuary

You decide to leave what is left in your estate to CBM after all estate debts or expenses are met and specific gifts are made. It’s the simplest and most effective way to support CBM.

2. Percentage

You leave a percentage of your estate to CBM. This gives longevity to your Will because your gift won’t be influenced by inflation or changes in the value of your estate.

3. Specific amount

You can make a specific bequest in your Will by simply stating the dollar amount that you wish to leave to CBM.

Meet Richard, CBM Gift in Will donor

“The executors to my Will had moved on, and I allowed my Will to just sit there for over 13 years null and void… until my financial planner said, ‘Have you got a Will?’ I replied, ‘Sort of!’, and then decided then and there it was time to get one.

“I began thinking about the people in my life. I listed family members, friends… and then my mind turned to those in need. The thought kept coming into my head, ‘Thy will be done’. I took it to mean two things: get my Will done, and get God’s will done too!

“A letter came from CBM. I recognised immediately that CBM’s work restoring limbs and sight was truly vital – and life-changing for people.

“No one really wants to make a Will. Yet it’s so important – you know the words, ‘be ye ready!’ After providing for my family, I considered who really needed help. And I couldn’t go past the work of CBM.”

"So God has given both his promise and his oath. These two things are unchangeable because it is impossible for God to lie. Therefore, we who have fled to him for refuge can have great confidence as we hold to the hope that lies before us."
