We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Policy and Advocacy Advisor in a part-time capacity (FTE 0.8), to advance CBM Australia’s advocacy agenda by leading policy development, supporting government relations, and delivering evidence-based advocacy initiatives.

The successful applicant will:

  • Lead development of evidence-based policy positions aligned with CBM strategy

  • Design and implement advocacy strategies and campaigns

  • Represent CBM Australia in sector coalitions and forums

  • Strengthen relationships with government officials and parliamentarians

  • Prepare high-quality briefing materials for senior leadership

  • Track Federal Government legislative and policy cycles

To be considered for this role, you will have:

  • Tertiary qualifications or demonstrated experience in public policy, international development, social sciences or a related field

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in policy development and advocacy

  • Strong understanding of Australian political systems and international development policy

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills

  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain influential stakeholder relationships

  • Commitment to disability inclusion and human rights principles

  • Familiarity with rights-based international development approaches

  • Experience engaging with DFAT, ACFID and sector coalitions

  • Alignment and comfort with being part of a faith-based organisation
