We have a rewarding opportunity for an experienced and passionate Donation Processing Specialist (Parental Cover Fixed Term) to join CBM Australia.
The Donation Processing Specialist is a parental leave cover, joining CBM Australia’s Business Operations team on a fixed-term contract until approximately February 2027. This role is responsible for ensuring the accurate and compliant processing of donations across multiple channels, supporting financial compliance of fundraising campaigns, and maintaining financial systems and documentation. Reporting to the Head of Finance, the position plays a critical role in upholding CBM’s financial integrity and operational efficiency.
The role works collaboratively across departments and with external providers to ensure smooth donation workflows, PCI compliance, and reconciliation of income. It also contributes to broader finance functions, with a focus on continuous improvement and stakeholder engagement.

The successful applicant will look like:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and collaborative professional to the processing and reconciliation of donations across multiple channels, including online, regular giving, estate, and philanthropic contributions. This role involves working closely with internal teams and external providers to ensure seamless donation workflows and financial compliance. The successful candidate will maintain and enhance documentation and systems related to donation processing and campaign administration, while also supporting the financial aspects of fundraising initiatives by reviewing campaign materials for accuracy and compliance. Additionally, the role provides backfill support across core finance functions such as accounts payable, receivable, and general ledger entries. Acting as a key liaison with external partners the candidate will foster strong relationships to support operational excellence.
Specific outcomes required:
The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the timely reconciliation of donation income with bank accounts and preparing accurate transfer files to support financial integrity. They will uphold PCI compliance across all donation processes and proactively escalate any financial or regulatory concerns. This role also involves delivering accurate and compliant financial processing for all fundraising campaigns, while continuously supporting improving donation systems and documentation in collaboration with ICT and Fundraising teams. The candidate will play a role in supporting audits and meeting reporting obligations, including those required by ACFID and government bodies. Additionally, they will contribute to cross-functional projects and broader organisational initiatives, bringing a solutions-focused mindset to collaborative work.

To be considered for this role, you will have:
- Proven experience in financial administration, or similar operational finance roles.
- Strong reconciliation skills, particularly in reconciling donation income to bank accounts.
- Experience in supporting process and systems development, testing, and documentation.
- Excel skills and proficiency with financial systems, work activity management systems and CRM platforms.
- Strong organisational and administrative capabilities, with attention to detail.
- Ability to manage and meet internal and external deadlines.
- Demonstrated ability to work productively in an agile environment, managing multiple tasks and competing priorities.
- Strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative team approach.
- Ability to build effective relationships with internal stakeholders and external service providers.
- Understanding of compliance requirements, including PCI standards and financial obligations in fundraising.
- Commitment to CBM Australia’s mission and values, and comfort working within a faith-based organisation.
