2024 Christmas message from CEO Jane Edge

Video transcript

Hi, I’m Jane Edge,

the Chief Executive of CBM Australia.

As we come to the end of 2024,

I’d like to take a moment to pause

and wish you and your family blessings

in this Christmas season

and my very best wishes for 2025.

I also do want to acknowledge

that Christmas is not an easy time for everyone.

Mostly though I want to thank you

for joining us in the fight

to end the cycle of poverty and disability.

It was wonderful to meet with more than 300 supporters

at recent events in Melbourne, Brisbane, and Sydney

to talk about the impact your giving makes

in the lives of the most marginalized.

This year with your support,

over 20,000 miracle surgeries can be performed,

transforming the lives of people

needlessly blind with cataracts

living in some of the hardest places.

Their families and communities

have hope for the future.

And there’s so much more to give thanks for.

To amplify our impact,

CBM partners with organizations

like the Pacific Disability Forum,

the Australian Disability and Development Consortium,

the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade,

and we reach over 4 million people.

And your faithful support makes this possible.

As we celebrate the joy of Christmas,

if you are able to,

please share this feeling of hope

through CBM’s meaningful gifts.

Each gift this year will be a double blessing

as a group of generous donors

will be matching your support.

Simply visit our gift shop at my.cbm.org/gifts

and follow us on social media.

CBM’s meaningful gifts can help transform lives

by building a more just and inclusive world.

I’ve seen this work firsthand,

and I know the profound difference your support makes.

So thank you.

Thank you for being part of this movement

of the heart that is CBM’s work,

our work together.

So again, I wish you peace and joy this Christmas.
