Covid-19 Ethiopia story

Stories | February 10, 2022

Amid the Covid-19 crisis, we are glad to report that CBM Australia assisted in delivering assistive devices to almost 100 children living with disabilities in the Oromia region of Ethiopia, before the crisis hit.

In six months, devices including wheelchairs, crutches, visual aids, spectacles and hearing aids were distributed by CBM partners. CBM Partner Assefa was working in the region as part of a broader plan to build the capacity of local schools and community to provide disability-inclusive education. One of the barriers CBM was working to overcome was mobility challenges and the inability to participate in school activities.

CBM Australia continues to monitor the situation around Covid-19 to ensure the health and welfare of our overseas partners.
