Donate directly

There are many ways you can help support people with disabilities living in low-to middle-income countries with regular giving options or once-off donations.

Donate online today

Your generous tax-deductible charity donation, large or small, helps improve the lives of people with disabilities living in poverty in developing countries. Your credit card details are securely processed using our strictly compliant payment gateway, and we take care to store your email and other contact details safely.

Regular giving

Join our community of regular supporters. Your monthly commitment will provide ongoing support and material benefit to people with disabilities in some of the world’s poorest places – access to clean drinking water, nutritious food, warm clothes, healthcare, inclusive mental health support, inclusive education, relief from hardship caused by climate change, and more.

Give a Miracle: Help restore eyesight

All it costs is $33 for a 12-minute sight-saving surgery to give someone the Miracle gift of sight. As well as funding life-changing eye surgery, your donation can provide training to doctors in developing countries, enabling them to restore the vision of hundreds and offer inclusive eye health services to their communities.

Meaningful Gifts

Buy a Meaningful Gift on behalf of a loved one, to be gifted in their name. Gift items include medical supplies and training, essential infrastructure, and more. Pay for someone’s surgery and rehabilitation, provide clean water access for a community – you can even buy a goat! All gifts are eligible for tax deductions.

Cheque donation FAQs

In 2023, the Australian government decided to withdraw cheques from use publicly, privately and within government with an end date of 2030. Decisions regarding this were based around the natural decline in cheque use as well as limited services being available for customers.

While the government’s intention was to have cheque use end in Australia by 2030, the timeline for personal cheque use by members of the public may occur earlier.

CBM has already noted that many smaller banks have already ceased honouring their cheques, and it is expected that the bigger banks may follow suit.

We understand the inconvenience this change has caused and CBM is actively working on solutions to ensure you can still donate in a way that you’re comfortable with. For now, you can continue to make secure donations online or you can call our supporter relationships team on 1800 678 069 for assistance with donating over the phone, by direct deposit or by BPAY.

If your bank is still accepting cheques, we will be able to process them successfully and you’ll be sent a receipt once this is done. If not, our supporter relationships team will contact you to let you know the cheque was unable to be accepted by the bank and we can assist you to make a donation over the phone. Please contact your bank directly to find out if you are affected.

While CBM greatly appreciates your continued support, sending cash in the post is not secure and your letter may go missing. You can call our supporter relationships team on 1800 678 069 to chat through the other, secure ways you can continue giving to CBM.

CBM complies with the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standards (PCI-DSS), and our security experts are committed to protecting any data that we process on behalf of our supporters.

We also use an additional security measure called tokenisation. This encrypts (removes) your credit card information, ensuring that no one can access your complete card details. The only visible part is the last four digits of your card number and the expiry date. These details are used for verification purposes if you call with a query about your donation, allowing us to confirm your identity securely before assisting you.

No employee or contractor has access to your full payment details.

Yes. We understand that not everyone has access to various types of technology or feels overly safe or comfortable using it and our supporter relationships team are here to help you navigate these changes as best as we can. You can call them on 1800 678 069 to ask for other ways to keep giving in a way that you are most comfortable with.

Yes. All banks are undergoing these changes as well, and they have customer teams with detailed information to help all their customers navigate through these changes. Please reach out to your bank and ask for their support and guidance as well.

CBM deeply values and appreciates the thoughtful generosity of each and every single donor, whether through financial gifts or other meaningful ways of support. With the phasing out of personal cheques, some donors may find it challenging to continue giving in the same way. If ongoing donations are no longer an option, you may like to consider leaving a gift in your Will.

A gift in your Will is one of the most long-lasting gifts you can leave behind. It ensures that your compassion for those living in extreme poverty will live on beyond your lifetime.

Through this powerful legacy, you will help change the lives of those who are trapped in a cycle of disability and poverty. Your gift, no matter how big or small, is a generous love-led act that can help restore sight, give people mobility and empower them with dignity and inclusion long into the future.
