How You Can Help

Supporter Meetings

CBM is in a town near you.

One of greatest things we love about being a part of the CBM family is meeting YOU.
Each year we host Supporter Meetings throughout every state and territory, in both cities and country towns.

With inspiring stories from the field, special guests and overseas co-workers, these events are not to be missed.

Some of our Guest Speakers

Noriko DethlefsNoriko Dethlefs

In 2005 Noriko Dethlefs made the huge decision to give up her work as an academic at the University of Wollongong to accompany her husband, Roger, on a four-year assignment with CBM in Afghanistan.

Noriko drew on her faith and embraced life in the Middle East. Noriko will share with you her amazing and inspiring stories of the people she met and personally sign your copy of her book. If you haven’t received one, you may get your FREE copy at the event!

John Jeffries

John and Alison Jeffries

John Jeffries has served with CBM Australia for over 30 years - and has been the National Director for the past 20 years. He has overseen CBM Australia's growth into one of the largest NGOs helping the poorest people with disability.

His wife, Alison, has accompanied John on several trips to the poorest countries, and has spoken widely about the issues of poverty and disability.

Ernie and Glenys Sigley

Gold Logie winner Ernie Sigley and wife Glenys, have recently returned home from visiting CBM’s maternal health projects in Tanzania.

Over morning tea, they’ll share some remarkable and incredibly moving stories of women who have suffered with an isolating disability known as fistula that is completely preventable.

Guna Fernandez

Guna has been associated with CBM’s life-changing work in the field for nearly 30 years, starting off as a project officer in Bangalore, India and eventually becoming the Regional Director of CBM’s South Asia Regional Office.

Guna is now part of CBM Australia’s team in Melbourne. She would love to share with you her amazing experiences of meeting and helping people with disabilities in some of the poorest countries.

Michael and Jannike Seward

Michael is an ophthalmologist working at Goroka Base Hospital in the highlands of Papua New Guinea. He frequently travels on remote trips throughout the region, seeking out those living with blindness and restoring sight to dozens of people every week.

His wife, Jannike, is a Community Based Rehabilitation worker at the Mount Sion school for the Blind in Goroka.  Previously Michael and Jannike worked in a CBM-supported hospital in Zambia. They would love to share their amazing experiences of meeting and helping people with disabilities in some of the world’s poorest countries.

Anthony HallAnthony Hall

Special Guest Anthony Hall was a CBM ophthalmologist and the head of the eye department at Kilimanjaro Christian Medical Centre (KCMC) in Moshi, Tanzania.

Anthony worked tirelessly at KCMC, where his department was the referral point in Tanzania for over 15 million people living with vision impairment and blindness. He would love to share with you his amazing experiences of meeting and helping people with disabilities in some of the world’s poorest countries.
