Dirty water kills. You can save lives today!
One of the greatest injustices of poverty is that so many people live with water contaminated by faeces, parasites and chemical pollutants. Water that can kill them.
Please help end this injustice right now through your urgent gift to bring clean, safe water to communities facing a deadly water crisis:
This crisis is taking a devastating toll on our most vulnerable
The people who suffer most from drinking dirty water are the ones whose bodies can’t fight lethal diseases, such as diarrhoea, cholera, dysentery, typhoid and polio.
That means children under 5. They’re so little they simply can’t handle the intense dehydration caused by these diseases. It’s beyond devastating.
And people with disabilities living in poverty. It can be so much harder for them to reach or access safe water. When the closest water source requires a trek through muddy areas, you can imagine how difficult this could be for those with disabilities.
Donate Now to bring access to safe, clean water right into the heart of the worst affected communities, so no one gets left behind in a water crisis:
The tragic reality
Globally, 600 million children don’t have safe drinking water
Today, around 2.2 billion people – or 1 in 4 – still lack safely managed drinking water at home
Nearly 700 million children can’t access basic hygiene services like a place to wash their hands
Close to 2 billion people worldwide use drinking water contaminated with faeces
Over 500,000 deaths each year are estimated to be linked to diseases related to dirty water
Children especially cannot wait
Diseases like cholera and dysentery cause dehydration so severe it can kill a small child within hours.
Beyond the deadly diseases, there’s another cost.
Children in isolated areas often spend their days walking for water instead of going to school. In seven out of 10 households, water collection is considered the job of girls in the family.
Your gift will support CBM’s WASH program
WASH stands for water, sanitation and hygiene. It’s a special program providing access to clean water boreholes and hand-washing stations, while also educating people on sanitation and hygiene practices to prevent deadly diseases.
Here’s how you can help entire communities:
- Help provide WASH education to communities in remote locations.
- Help install accessible hand-washing stations in an isolated school.
- Help rehabilitate a borehole, and bring safe water to a community forever.
Here’s what your gift of safe water will mean…
You’ll help save a child’s life!
And you’ll help prevent disability and death caused by the most sinister waterborne diseases.
