Every night, Umar’s mum prays to God that someone will save his sight. Could that someone be you?

Since birth, cataracts have been clouding Umar’s vision. Now, he can barely see. He doesn’t go to school. He stays home, feeling isolated and vulnerable.

Brokenhearted, his mother Johara shared her prayer for her son with my colleague…

“I feel sad that other children are going, seeing everything, but he doesn’t. I feel so bad for him. I hope he will see like others.” – Johara

Please, will you help answer Johara’s prayer?

Umar urgently needs sight-saving surgery before it’s too late. The older he gets and the longer he waits for surgery, the smaller his chance of the surgery being successful.

Time is fast running out for Umar. If he doesn’t get surgery soon, he will go needlessly and irreversibly blind… forever.

One sight-saving cataract surgery costs just $33.

It might surprise you to hear that $33 is all it takes to provide sight-restoring cataract surgery and change someone’s life forever.

Umar’s family cannot afford the sight-saving surgery he needs. But perhaps you can?

Every dollar in Johara’s home must go to keep food on the table, surgery for Umar is simply out of reach – unless compassionate people like you to step forward.

Oscar is one of the brightest children in his class. But for 13 years, cataracts have been slowly stealing his eyesight, his childhood, and his future.

Yet despite his sadness and his fear, he bravely goes to school every day, he works hard, and every night before he sleeps, he prays that God will restore his sight.

“I have dreamed of being healed for a long time. I have addressed this wish to God in hope that he will fulfil this miracle.” – Oscar

Please, will you help answer Oscar’s prayer?

Oscar prays to God that someone will save his sight. Could that someone be you?

Oscar does his best to get around the alleyways of his village on his own. Afraid of falling and hurting himself, he uses his hands to feel along the walls.

But how much longer can he navigate a treacherous world when his sight is fading from treatable cataracts?

Oscar used to get top grades in school, and he excels in science. As his sight got worse, his teachers moved him to the front of class – but he struggles to see the blackboard. And it’s getting harder every day.

Oscar's family cannot afford the sight-saving surgery he needs. But perhaps you can?

Oscar’s mother, Felistine, is raising her children on her own. The money she makes selling goods at the market is barely enough to put food on the table and keep Oscar in school, let alone pay for his surgery.

Every night, her heart breaks for her son as he says his prayer to God.
