Let your love go FIVE TIMES FURTHER for children like Sarbendra
15-year-old Sarbendra desperately wants to learn alongside his schoolmates, and dreams of getting a government job one day.
But instead of building a bright future for himself, he’s trapped at home while his classmates move ahead without him.
All because his prosthetic leg has completely fallen apart.
This Christmas your love can go FIVE TIMES FURTHER for Sarbendra, thanks to a special grant from the Australian Government’s NGO Cooperation Program (ANCP) that will MULTIPLY the impact of any donation you give 5 TIMES!
Please will you give before 24 December so it can be multiplied to help Sarbendra get the prosthetics and rehabilitation he needs to fulfil his potential?
Sarbendra needs your help urgently
“I had to stop wearing my old prosthetic leg. I also had to stop going to school. I am limited to my home and miss going to school. My schoolmates tease me.” – Sarbendra
The implications of Sarbendra dropping out of school are devastating.
Education is his best pathway out of poverty. Without completing his studies, he faces a future of limited opportunities and dependence on others.
And his dream of a government job – which would provide security for his family – grows more distant with each day he remains at home.

Sarbendra was only 9 when he lost his leg in a horrible accident.
Sarbendra was heading out to play football with friends. In a split second, his life changed in the worst way.
He stepped on a live power cable lying by the roadside. The electric shock caused an injury so severe that his left leg had to be amputated.
It was devastating – not only for Sarbendra, but also for his loving mother, Padamkala, who can only do so much to help him. Sarbendra lives with his mother and grandmother in a small stone house on a mountainside in Nepal. Life has been incredibly hard ever since Sarbendra’s father died in an accident years ago.
Padamkala used what little money she could to buy Sarbendra a prosthetic leg, but it was poor quality. It didn’t fit properly. Even before he’d outgrown the prosthetic, it broke apart completely.
Will you let your love go FIVE TIMES FURTHER to help Sarbendra? Your gift will be multiplied five times to give a child like Sarbendra the treatment they urgently need through CBMs local partner in Nepal, HRDC.
Disaster struck Sarbendra again
Sarbendra was already dealing with so much tragedy, pain and isolation… Then a massive earthquake shook his region.
“When the earthquake occurred, I tried to run with my mother, but both of us fell to the ground. My leg also got injured at that time.” – Sarbendra
Please will you give as generously as you can today so that Sarbendra and other children like him can receive surgical intervention, and follow up physiotherapy from the amazing clinicians at our partner hospital, HRDC?
Three simple and easy ways you can help change lives forever:
- PROSTHETICS to help children like Sarbendra get the prosthetics they need to live the life God wants for them.
- SURGERY to help children with disabilities in Nepal receive expert surgical intervention.
- REHABILITATION to help provide expert rehabilitative support to so many children after surgery.
CBMs local partner in Nepal, HRDC have the expertise and knowledge to help Sarbendra. But they can’t provide this life-changing treatment without support from people like you.
“It’s really something special when a mother sees her child getting better. It’s like a miracle. We’re fortunate to be able to witness these incredible moments in life.” – Dr Bibek Banskota, HRDC in Nepal
Across Nepal’s remote mountains, hundreds of children have disabilities that could be treated and some cases completely fixed – if only their families could afford it.
Families like Sarbendra’s don’t have the money to get the help they need. And what little money they do have, goes towards essentials like food.
This means children like Sarbendra will never be able to go to school and achieve their aspirations or support their families – let alone themselves. The cycle of poverty deepens, unless someone like you can help.
