Twice the sight, Twice the hope. x2

Please don’t let children like Kyle go needlessly blind.

Send your sight-saving gift before 30 June and it will be DOUBLED.

When seven-year-old Kyle was asked what he wanted to do when he grows up, he said, “I want to play basketball.”

But his dreams are slipping away… because he is going needlessly blind from cataracts.

There is still hope for Kyle – but only if kind people like you can help pay for the surgery he needs while he’s young enough for his cataract treatment to be successful.

Please will you give a sight-saving gift right away?

Give twice the sight and twice the hope!

If your gift reaches us before 30 June, it will be instantly doubled by a generous group of CBM supporters called Hope Growers…
to give twice the sight and twice the hope!

One day, when Kyle was playing with his friends, they ran through some trees. Small twigs from these trees got into Kyle’s eyes. It happened in a matter of seconds, but it was enough to change Kyle’s life.

Kyle’s mum April remembered her fear seeing that Kyle was hurt…

“We were afraid of him not being able to see again. So we brought him to the doctor for his eyes to be checked. We found out that it was cataracts.”

This sort of accident could happen to anyone… But the difference is that if this happened here in Australia, a child would receive immediate surgery to treat the cataracts. The damage would be repaired right away… saving their sight before it was lost.

But surgery was not an option for Kyle.

His family is barely earning enough money to buy food to survive each day.

There is simply no extra money for them to pay for the surgery Kyle needs.

April said, “We cannot afford to bring Kyle for the surgery. We pray hard that somebody could be used by God to help us out with our child’s cataracts.”

Now is the time to act for children like Kyle. Because the combined generosity of you and our Hope Growers will help give twice the sight and twice the hope.

As it is written: “They have freely scattered their gifts to the poor; their righteousness endures forever.”

2 Corinthians 9:9

Early intervention is vital for the surgery to fully restore Kyle’s sight.

Despite Kyle’s injury, he is still going to school – and he’s trying his best to keep up. But how much longer can he study when he struggles to see in class, every day. As Kyle says…

“It’s sometimes hard and I hope my eyesight will be better.”

Kyle’s eyesight will only continue to get worse if his cataracts are not treated very soon. He needs help now – before it’s too late.

Did you know it costs just $33 to perform one cataract surgery?

For every $33 you give, not one, but two children like Kyle will see. That’s because your gift will be doubled, if you give before 30 June, to bring twice the sight and twice the hope!

A Mother’s Hope

“My hope for Kyle’s future is to be able to graduate from school, and at the same time he would be able to land a good job… and someday, he would be able to be independent, support himself, and be happy.”
– April, Kyle’s mum

A Father’s Hope

“My only dream for Kyle is for him to be able to reach for his heart’s desire, and for his dream as well. I just want him to be faithful in his school, in his study and to learn well, because I also want him to graduate.”
– Edmond, Kyle’s dad

Too many children like Kyle are going needlessly blind from treatable cataracts.

Will you help while there’s still time? Your gift brings TWICE the sight and TWICE the hope to families like Kyle’s.

“You will be enriched in every way so that you can be generous on every occasion, and through us your generosity will result in thanksgiving to God.”
