The other children call him “kibata" meaning like a duck

The children in Aaron’s village call him “kibata” – which means like a duck. And sometimes, people stand by the roadside and just stare at him…

When we met Aaron earlier this year, he was completely exhausted by the walk to greet us.

As he got nearer, you could see the wide gap between his knees. With every step he takes, he puts more weight on his knees, forcing them to curve outwards. At just three years old, Aaron has severe bowlegs… And they’re growing more agonisingly painful each day.

His mother, a lovely young woman named Vastina shares that the other children “call him “kibata”, which means ‘like a duck’... Sometimes, people stand by the roadside and just stare at him,”

“When others call him names, you can see that it hurts him.”
