CBM Australia, through our partnership with DFAT, provided Disability Inclusive Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) training to the Government of Indonesia / World Bank / DFAT WASH program: PAMSIMAS.
Our facilitation was supported by wonderful facilitators Risna and Nuning from the Indonesian organisations of people with disabilities; OHANA, and CIQAL. Access to clean water and toilet facilities is an important part of life for everybody, and essential for good health and well-being. Even when there are strong community WASH programs, often water and toilet facilities are not accessible, and people with disabilities miss out. CBM Australia is excited that the PAMSIMAS WASH program in Indonesia is keen to ensure everyone in the community can access clean water and sanitation, including people with disabilities, and that everyone in the community is involved in the planning of toilet and water infrastructure.
