Chief Executive Officer

Jane was recently appointed to the role of Chief Executive Officer after serving as Chief Operating Officer of CBMA since 2012.
Passionate about social justice, Jane draws on over 20 years’ experience in high impact roles focused on supporting positive change and sustainable development. She possesses a unique blend of senior executive/CEO/Board and leadership development experience, combining depth and breadth of knowledge across strategic and operational management.
Prior to her work with CBM Australia, Jane’s extensive experience includes seven years as CEO of ChildFund Australia, five years as Regional Director-Asia for ChildFund International and four years as an independent consultant specialising in executive management (including leadership and organisational development, strategic planning, change management and communications).
As CEO, Jane exemplifies a commitment to making a lasting, positive difference by enabling others to be agents of change.
Inclusive Development Director
Raine joined CBM Australia’s Inclusive Development team in October 2015, became Acting Director in January 2016 and was formally appointed to the role in February 2017.
Raine is an international development professional with more than 20 years’ experience in aid policy, program management and operational support, mostly within government. Raine’s skills have been applied across a range of sectors from disaster risk management to community development and across a range of geographic regions from South East Asia to Southern Africa. She has a particular love of the Mekong region, having been based on both Cambodia and Lao PDR at different points in her career. Raine has academic qualifications in Communications, International and Community Development, and Program Evaluation.
Raine feels very fortunate to be working at CBM where she has the chance to make a real difference helping people with disabilities realise their rights. She enjoys working with her talented and committed team, who all share a passion for sustained social change.
Chief Operating Officer
Dave has a passion for rejuvenating and shaping organisations that make a difference and impact people's lives so as to enable them to reach their full potential. Dave has over 20 years experience in a range of leadership and management roles, developing his skills through working in not-for-profit, commercial banking and government organisations.
Prior to joining CBM Dave was a member of the Australian Volunteers International (AVI) executive for 12 years, leading functions such as Finance, People & Culture, Information & Communication Technology, Marketing & Communications, Volunteer Engagement and Management, Risk & Insurance Management and Company Secretary duties. Dave moved into the not-for-profit sector after returning to Australia following over a decade working in the highly competitive UK banking industry.
Dave is a qualified Accountant and member of the Institute of Company Directors. He has diverse experience both reporting to Boards and being a Board member. One current Board involvement is with a Bendigo Bank Community Bank.
Dave has a down to earth manner that fits well with the CBM values and culture. He is married with a son in secondary level school and outside of work Dave enjoys camping and DIY home renovation.
Fundraising & Communications Director
Sophie has a deep passion for making positive change and building a better world for people living in poverty.
It is this passion that drives Sophie’s work and sees her bring to CBM Australia over 20 years’ experience in the government and not-for-profit sectors along with a breadth of knowledge in communications, marketing, and fundraising. Sophie’s skills have been utilised across several organisations, including during her role as Executive Director of the Australian Disability and Development Consortium, along with senior leadership positions with Vision 2020 Australia, World Vision and the City of Melbourne.
Being directly involved in the fundraising and communications work of CBM Australia, Sophie is constantly humbled and inspired by the generous spirit of Australians who are dedicated to making a difference in the lives of people with disabilities who live in poverty around the world.
Sophie is married with a young family, and enjoys supporting her local primary school and basketball club.
International Programs Director
Edwina has worked in the international development sector since 1991. Throughout this time she has been involved in international development programs practice, management, and systems. In 2006 she joined CBM after completing a Masters degree in Social Science.
Edwina and her team work with field partners and CBM Regional and Country Offices, strengthening practise and systems, promoting learning and accountability.

Strategic Programs Director
David has worked with CBM since 1989. During his first seven years, together with his wife Cate and three young children, David worked with local partner organisations in West Africa. His focus was on rehabilitation and access to services for the poorest people with disabilities in Sierra Leone and Niger.
David recently received a Medal of the Order of Australia (OAM) recognising his passion for and service to people with disabilities. He has also received an award for ‘Outstanding Contribution to International Development’, from the Australian Council for International Development. The award recognises David’s work promoting disability inclusion to aid and development programs, both in Australia and internationally.
David’s enthusiasm for CBM’s work remains as strong as ever. He is now working to ensure disability inclusion in environmental, emergency and eye-health related programs.
People and Culture Director
Janelle is a senior HR practitioner with a strong background in international development and relief, and is privileged to have worked in over 20 different countries at regional, national and international levels. Prior to joining CBM in 2013, Janelle led the People and Culture development at another not-for-profit organisation, where she was involved in organisational change and enhancing current HR practices.
